FAQ

Bamboo Pharmacy® Products

What are Bamboo Pharmacy® products?

Bamboo Pharmacy ® products are dietary supplements made entirely from premium quality herbs. Our products are based on time-tested traditional herbal formulas that are still in use today.

Where are Bamboo Pharmacy® products manufactured?

Bamboo Pharmacy® products are manufactured in internationally GMP-certified factories in China. Extensive laboratory testing throughout the process confirms quality standards are met, and results are routinely verified by third-party laboratory testing conducted in the US. The quality, processing and testing standards of our products are based on the legal requirements outlined in the Herbal Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China.

How are the products made?

Our premium quality herbs are washed and processed, then water extracted and concentrated into a paste. The paste is then blended with powdered herbs from the original formula to create an herbal dough. The dough is then cut into balls and is spun into our pills with a fine layer of edible wax for easier swallowing and to help naturally preserve freshness.

Are the products natural?

Yes. We cultivate and wild-craft (harvest from the wild) our herbs. Some cultivated herbs may require pesticides.

Do the products contain GMO ingredients?

No. Our manufacturers state that none of the herbs we use are genetically modified using recombinate DNA technology.

Are the products vegetarian?

All of our capsules and tablets are vegetarian.

Are the products kosher?

No. Our products are not kosher certified.

Product Use

How do I take Bamboo Pharmacy® formulas?

Please read the dosage information for each formula on the package. For best results, take our formulas half an hour before or one hour after eating. Most of our formulas come as small pills or tablets that are easy to swallow with a glass of water. Some people prefer to take our formulas with hot water to facilitate their digestion.

Can I take more than the dosage specified on the label?

Dosage amounts can vary according to the weight of the individual and whether the formula is being taken for support during an acute or chronic condition. However, modifying a dosage should be done under the guidance of a trained Chinese medicine practitioner such as an acupuncturist or herbalist.

Can children take Bamboo Pharmacy® products?

Most of our products can be taken safely by children. It is strongly recommended that a trained Chinese medicine practitioner such as an acupuncturist or herbalist be consulted for appropriateness and applicable dosage before giving one of our products to a child.

Can I take Bamboo Pharmacy® products if I'm pregnant or nursing?

Please check the product label for warnings. As with any Chinese herbal formula, it is best to consult a trained acupuncturist/herbalist before using while pregnant or nursing.

Can I take Bamboo Pharmacy® products if I am using pharmaceutical medicines?

Yes, in most cases. There is limited information available on potential herb-drug interactions, and almost none of it has been proven definitive, thus far. It is generally recommended that herbs and any supplement be taken 2 hours apart from medications. Depending on your circumstances, it may be advisable to consult a licensed health care practitioner when taking a combination of pharmaceutical medications and dietary supplements.

Do any Bamboo Pharmacy® products contain potential allergens?

Our formulas generally do not contain any milk or egg products, but may occasionally have warnings for other ingredients listed below.

In addition to the legal allergen warnings, we also include information for gluten and sesame on our website.
